Projects To Do Around The Home

With prices constantly increasing, you can save money by embracing DIY. It’s probably not worth trying to build your own conservatory, but small jobs can be achieved without too much hassle. There’s also nothing like feeling smug when people comment on your handiwork.

With summer on its way, more and more people will be fixing their house up ready to sell, decorating new extensions and generally attempting some home improvements.

Whatever you decide to do for your home, make sure you’re patient and prepared. We’ve listed some of the most popular DIY projects to inspire you.
1. Painting and decorating
If you’re decorating a room in your house, remember to protect any furniture and flooring before you start. It’s also worth cleaning the skirting boards and walls before you begin to make sure they’re as smooth as possible. Most importantly, don’t rush - take your time and see the room become transformed. If you’re doing your home up to sell, stick to neutral colours.
2. Garden maintenance
Gardening in winter isn’t a particularly pleasant task, even to the most seasoned gardener. Now summer’s on its way, tidying up the garden is far more appealing. Even if your fingers couldn’t be less green, give your flowerbeds some TLC, trim the hedges and mow the lawn. It’ll make all the difference and will be easier to maintain.
3. Exterior improvements
Make your home look more appealing by painting the outside walls and the front door. This will make your home look inviting and as good as new. If you don’t have time to paint the exterior, then simply wash the outside walls - this is much easier and quicker than painting it but can make a huge difference, especially if you want to sell your house.
